I bake dozens and dozens of cookies throughout the year, with a huge chunk of that happening at Christmastime. I recently bought–for the first time–a package of the Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie mix. Well, I discovered a gold mine! I compared the ease of adding just a couple of ingredients the package mix, to all that I would have to do, to make up a batch of basic sugar cookies, and realized that I was working just too hard! From there, I made two different recipes from this wonderful mix. First, for Orange Cookies, I added a heaping tablespoon of orange zest, 1 1/2 tsp. of orange extract, and 1 cup of Rice Crispies. I then made 1″ balls of dough and rolled them in orange-colored sugar. They turned out just great! For the next recipe–Coconut Cookies–I added 1 cup of shredded coconut and 1 1/2 tsp. of coconut extract, and–voila!–another fantastic recipe. Both, of course, were made from the Betty Crocker mix, and I challenge anyone to tell me that they could tell the difference between this mix and “from scratch” cookies. I’m now thinking of more ways to embellish my new favorite cookie dough. The possibilities are endless!
These are my favorite cookies. They are so easy to make but you must use real butter for the best taste. I always keep a package in the cabinet for short notice needs. Just add butter and egg! I love to roll the dough into balls and then roll the balls in sugar and cinnamon to make a special snickerdoodle.
This is the very best cookie mix and sugar cookie I have had. It is as good as the bakery ones that cost a ton of money. I frost them with the Betty Crocker white frosting and my son is in heaven!! Can’t say enough about how great and easy they are to make.
This was great – the mixes arrived and this was the easiest Christmas cookies I have made in a long time….
We are going to a big family get together today for Mother’s Day to have 3 generations of family together. My wife baked up a big batch of these to take as an after meal desert. We will ice them and put sprinkles on them to dress them up. These things are always a hit with the kids and adults and they go quickly.
They are easy to make and have a wonderful homemade taste. In less than 20 minutes you have your cookies but of course you have to let them cool down before you ice them. We used Betty Crocker Fluffy White Icing as the topping.
No matter what the food will be at the get together I am sure that these cookies will be a hit! Great product from a great company!
I love this product and have never had problem with it. I saw, on another site, that people were having trouble with their mix and I believe it is because they used MELTED BUTTER instead of softened.
I noticed that on this site as well…people talking about using melted butter. I check my package and it says nothing about MELTED butter…it says SOFTENED butter which can make a big difference in how the product turns out.
SO, folks, please check your instructions before doing anything…it can save time and a possible disaster.
Good value compared to local supermarket. Quick and easy afterschool treat with many possible variations for somethng different every week.
I can make cookies anytime + leave plain or put nuts/decorations on. Convenient pouches, not alot of ingreds to put together. I just don’t have the time anymore to make cookies from scratch that often. These taste really good and I use subscribe + save to get them cheaper!

I picked these up on sale from my local store. I normally always make my cookies from scratch. I decided to make these one afternoon with my son, and I loved them so much I’m coming to Amazon to stock up! So easy, and taste homemade! Takes 2 minutes to whip up, and less mess for me in the kitchen!! Love it. Oh, and btw, yummm…you may want to eat them all!
