Best yeast for home brewing
Wyeast liquid smack packs are the best yeast for the home brewer because they offer a wide variety of strains so you can taylor fit it to the type of batch you are making. I have used dry yeast in 2 previous batches, Wyeast in an American wheat I just brewed, and White Labs liquid yeast in a raspberry cream ale I just did. The problem with White Labs is that it comes in a test tube looking vial, and you really have no idea if the yeast is ok. With the smack pack, it inflates to show you the yeast is healthy and incubated. I will use only Wyeast from now on!!
