Good taste, very high in fiber (great for diabetics). Cooks fast. Great in a Mack n’ Cheese or a chicken / tuna salad. 2 oz. dry = about 1 cup cooked.
This is simply one of the best low calories food out there. Great taste, low calories, low sugar, high fiber.
If you want to eat pasta and don’t want to rack up the calories, one answer: FiberGourmet!!!!!
I picked up a box of this at Whole Foods ($5) to try. It was simply amazing!! Tastes exactly like regular pasta. Even my picky husband said it has the same consistency and texture as regular pasta. I was expecting that cardboard box taste like most low calorie anything has and this stuff was nothing like that at all. I made a type of hamburger helper with it, and purcahsed a case of 12. Simply amazing, you won’t regret this purchase especially if you are watching calories.
These rotini are by far my favorite Fiber Gourmet product AND my favorite boxed pasta. Not to mention you can eat almost double the amount for the same calories as other pasta products, even whole wheat. The taste is wonderful and they cook very quick! An absolute staple in my household.
I had tried the FiberGourmet pasta a couple years ago and thought it was okay, but they only had the fettuccine back then. I just tried these this week and I really like this shape. This pasta holds up well, firmly, even if you cook it past the recommended time (I find that unlike regular pasta, which to get al dente the way I like, I need to cook LESS than package instructuions, this pasta needs more time or tastes undercooked). I made a really good low-fat, high-fiber mac n cheese with this using light cheddar, low fat american cheese, skim milk, and Smart Balance and a teensy bit of onion powder. Mmm.
I like the packaging now, too, and the newer pasta shapes are much more convenient and useful for me than the old fettuccine nests I originally tried.
Recommended if you need to up your fiber, cut your carbs but keep eating pasta, or just wanna cut calories.
