Youki has a better chicken stock/base, however, it is near impossible to get it in the states or where my spouse shops when on business trips.
That being said, this is still a very good product for cooking. I use it for Japanese recipes, Mabu-dofu, achiote rice, as a pure soup base, and as a supplemental flavoring to chicken & dumplings.
The Lee Kum Kee USA Company makes the base here in the States, but doesn’t add any flavoring that could alter the flavor of foods from other countries. A great basic stocking item for the kitchen pantry.
This makes broth that tastes somewhat like egg drop soup. I now use this instead of Maggi or Wylers or Herb-Ox chicken bouillon for any type of recipe that calls for chicken broth or bouillon. Lee Kum Kee is better tasting than all of those.
It is a hard to find product. Hopefully Amazon will still be selling this when I finish my current large can.

Nice broth when compared to the famous Knorr’s Chicken variety that sells in Costco. Hoping the ingredients are wholesome enough to warrant serving in a regular basis to my unsuspecting family. But certainly no worst than the previously mentioned, Knorr’s Chicken bouillion. Flavor is superior for it is not as intrusive while providing a nice chicken taste that can be used in many different ways. For a change of pace a certainly welcome option. 4 Stars!
For a powdered chicken bouillon, this product comes the closest to home-made. It is a lot more convenient than spending hours over a stock pot.
We have tried many similar products and this one is the best of the lot. We use it as a salt replacement in many recipes where it gives a background of rich flavor.
We order it by the case we use it so much.

I thought when I bought this that it would taste like the chicken soup in Chinese restaurants. I don’t believe they are all boiling chicken galore for their various soups. It just would be too time consuming and expensive to the obligatory first course. I found, however, that it tasted pretty much like any chicken bouillon
