Manitoba Harvest Organic Hemp Hearts Raw Shelled Hemp Seeds, 12 Ounce

Hemp hearts are the very best and most nutritious part of the hemp seed. By shelling the hemp seed, you get only the center, with its raw nutrition, rich nutty flavor and tender crunch. So easy to use, eat them straight out of the package or sprinkle on anything – salad, cereal or yogurt – the only limit is your imagination. Unlike some other seeds, there is no need to grind Hemp Hearts to get at the incredible nutrition. They are full of protein with 10 grams of complete (all the amino acids), plant-based protein per 30 gram (3 tablespoons) serving size. Hemp Hearts are also a great way to add omegas or EFAs (essential fatty acids) to your diet. According to the World Health Organization, the ideal ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 EFAs is 4:1 and the naturally occurring ratio in Hemp Hearts is 3.75:1. Hemp Hearts contain more protein and omegas and less carbs than a similar serving of Chia or Flax. Manitoba Harvest is the world’s largest hemp food manufacturer to grow, make and sell our own line of hemp foods. Our producer partners deliver whole seed directly to our state-of-the-art, BRC (the highest level of food safety and quality certification in the world) certified facility. Here we remove the hard outer shell of the hemp seed, leaving just the soft, tasty Hemp Heart, which are tested for quality then sealed in a modified atmosphere, light impermeable package to lock in the freshness. All of our packaging includes the ‘packaged on’ and ‘best before’ dates to ensure you’re getting the highest quality product available. Hemp Hearts, as with all Manitoba Harvest products, is Non-GMO Project Verified.

Almost a 5

I am very happy with these shelled hemp hearts. They are tasty and are beneficial to my system in at least two ways. I would give this product a 5 if I did not encounter in each serving a piece or two that is so hard it feels like sand or glass and hurts my teethe. I will reorder.

Hemp Super Food…

This is organic, costs more so it is not sold in bigger quantities. Manitoba sells the 5lb container, conventional not organic, with bigger saving but it all depends how much you consume. Manitoba sells the 5lb container with bigger saving but it all depends how much you consume. I consume these straight from the container with spoon, an hour before my work outs without mixing in a bowl or as dressing. I consume it first thing in the morning or when I need a quick burst of energy regardless of the time of the day. For years I have consumed 1)raw sunflower seeds, 2)almonds in water 3)organic sesame+flax seeds grinded in coffee maker + cocoa powder + unflavoured protein isolate on daily basis and now I have added hemp to my diet. Seeds all go rancid due to the oil and the germ inside the seed so regardless of the type or brand, seeds need to be stored in freezer, in a dark, cold, sealed container, away from any moisture. If plastic container it needs to be #5 or much safer in glass containers. I consume seeds within two weeks but the hemp seeds within the most three months since I can not get it in small quantities and it will lose its nutritional value. This is an unbelievable product and you can not grow it in US since it is illegal and big business does not want to see you healthy and there is no profit in hemp for since it is so cheap to grow with so many benefits that scares big pharma, plastic industry, fabric-cotton industry, pesticide producers, etc… so if you live in US, Canada becomes your only hope. Hemp increases my level of energy without an other artificial stimulants like caffeine and sugar. More energy with less empty calorie fillers, like sugar and saturated fat, and common energy bars. Contains the highest percentage of globulin than any other plant which is an essential amino acid that helps my body to create antibodies, a component of a healthy immune system. Healthy addition to a weight loss plan since it provides essential nutrients such as protein, essential fatty acids, fibre, vitamins and minerals without adding an excess amount of calories, starch and sugar. One of the best natural boosters that I can get when doing all different type of sports or when I need energy without a big meal. Hemp is truly a good plant for the environment and it is shame that we have to deal with the politics of the hemp instead of the benefits of the hemp in US. Victim of its own success. This is a super food next to quinoa, kale, broccoli, legumes, nuts, seeds, etc… Thank you Canada.

Super Food!

I recently heard about Manitoba Harvest Hemp on an interview with Riley Cote (former Philadelphia Flyer)- He boasted about the health benefits of hemp (and how he has got a lot of NHL players taken it for a natural supplement), so I needed to do a little more research myself.
After researching, I saw he was right one! This is a great supplement for adding Omega 3/6 into you diet.
It tastes like shelled, unsalted sunflower seeds. So they actually add more texture to food than a taste.
I usually add it to my cereal or yogurt in the morning – and I generally try to throw a tablespoon of it into whatever I am eating.
If you have high cholesterol, Omega 3/6 are good to add to your diet, this is also a great source of fiber for you too.
There are lots of sellers, but what draws me to Manitoba is that they seem to be the most pure and freshest you can get. I like the Raw organic for the freshness and also to get a more pure product (why have unneeded additives in my supplements?)

Great taste, good quality

I have never tried hemp seeds before, and this was a good start! It tastes great on my oatmeal and just by itself. Great snack, but make sure you keep it in the fridge after opening.

So Good!

Hemp Hearts are AMAZING!!! Sprinkle them on yogurt or a salad for a nutrition boost. My daughter even eats them! They come in both natural and organic, but we like the organic kind the best.

Tasty, nice addition to cereal

I purchased this product because of the amount of omega 3. It serves it’s purpose and has a nice nutty flavor.
It does have a few shells, which makes it slightly gritty. I can deal with it.
The price is much better than what you will find at Wholefoods.

Love this!!

I am super busy and I typically don’t leave feedback because I really just want to shop for what I need. BUT I saw hemp being discussed on tv and decided to give it a try. I am amazed at how good these taste!! I added one serving to my morning yogurt and it gave a nice nutty flavor. I struggle to get enough protein because I don’t eat much meat and these have 10g in one serving!! Needless to say I am not even finished with my first yogurt with hemp hearts added and I’m enjoying it so much I absolutely had to log in and say something. Wonderful!!!
