Mario Camacho Manzanilla Pitted Spanish Olives comes in a 2.5 ounce jar. Manzanilla olives are smaller in size than the Queen variety, very round in shape, fleshy, finer textured, with a small pit and unique taste. The pitted Manzanilla olives, like the pitted queens, are an excellent unstuffed fruit for a multitude of applications. This olive can also be stuffed with other items like almonds, onions and jalapeno peppers. The Manzanilla olive, which is popular in the United States, is a brine-cured, small to medium sized Spanish variety that maintains a crisp flesh and smoky flavor. Because they are easy to pit, they are often sold pitted and stuffed with pimiento or almond. All of our products are inspected at our dock doors by receiving personnel, as well as our QA department, before storage or use. Each delivery is inspected and weighed. Drums of raw material come in sealed containers and are tested for contaminants. On the production line, we follow a HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) procedure establishing several critical control points for inspection. All products are date coded and lot coded to localize any potential problem.

I had never cared much for green olives, that is until I went to Spain, and had Spanish olives. Wow! I did a 180 with their rich, delicious flavor, so I only buy green olives from Spain (and olive oil too!).
I was looking forward to trying these, but sadly, I found them to be extremely salty – and not as flavorful as others I’ve had. They would be good for tapenade, as the previous reviewer stated, or in a pasta sauce, or any “dish”, as they will add flavor & salt (so you can adjust the final taste), and hold up well, however, I wouldn’t recommend them as a superior “stand alone” to eat by themselves, which was the primary reason I bought them. I got them on sale, so at least the price was reasonable.
I took off one point each for flavor, and too much salt
Bottom Line: Suitable for recipes, don’t recommend as a stand-alone olive for appetizer/snack.
These are good olives. Nice and firm with good taste. I used some in the olive tapenade and they tasted great in there too! Good product.
