Terrible tasting, waxy Reese’s so called Milk ”Chocolate”

This is not chocolate at all! I don’t taste the chocolate at all because there is hardly any cocoa in it. It taste like sugar and is too waxy. Before Reese’s and Hershey’s started adding junk like soy lecithin, which is vegetable lard, vegetable oils instead of cocoa, preservatives, and loads of milk into its ingredients, it used to taste so good you couldn’t stop eating them. Nowadays, it hard to find 65% chocolate or more that is inexpensive because most brands like Hershey’s and Mars hardly put an cocoa in their products.
Ingredients:MILK chocolate (Sugar; cocoa butter; chocolate; nonfat milk); lactose; soy lecithin; PGPR, emulsifier); peanuts, sugar, dextrose, salt, TBHQ.

You have not lived…

Until you have experienced the “BIG CUP”. I thought that the classic ‘two per’ Reese’s peanut butter cup was the ultimate in store-rack candy, but I was sooo wrong. There is something so incredibly right about the peanut butter filling in these monoliths and the fact that it has more volume to fill with a slightly thicker chocolate cup makes this form factor perfect. Would more be better? That’s really hard to imagine, but I’d try it!

Really hits the spot!

I have a feeling this is the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup for adults.

I was fortunate enough to buy one of these at a local store several months ago and my mouth still waters whenever I think of them.

I used to LOVE the regular Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, but the last few times I’ve splurged calories on them, I’ve been less than thrilled. They seem so small and wimpy! Did they really get smaller or is my mouth that much bigger? I can eat a whole regular-sized cup in one bite, and it mostly tastes of the (as another poster unkindly pointed out) slightly waxy chocolate. To me, Reese’s Cups have always been about the peanut butter filling, but it seems lacking to me now in the regular-sized cups.

Enter the Big Cup! Naturally, it’s bigger, but it also seems to have more peanut butter inside–which means more of that yummy peanut flavor. Even though you only get one per pack, and one Big Cup weighs less than two regular-sized cups, I still found it far more *satisfying* than the two-pack. I was able to eat it the way I like–nibble the edges and then chomp the peanutty middle–and the peanut butter flavor filled my mouth to perfection. Mmmmm!

I’ll keep my eyes open for these at the local stores, since it’s already too hot where I live to order chocolate by mail. Otherwise, come Fall, I guess I’ll order a box or two if they’re still available. *hope!* If you see this at the store, and you’re a Reese’s Cup fan from way back, grab it, you lucky dog!
