Stash Tea Traditional Black Tea, 1 Ounce Iced Tea Brew Bags

Founded in 1972, Stash Tea Company originally operated out of an old Portland Victorian style house, supplying loose herbal teas and bulk herbs to natural food stores. Starting in 1975, the company broadened its focus to include bagged teas and then began to sell a full line of traditional, specialty blend and herbal teas directly to fine restaurants and through a mail order catalog to consumers. Today, Stash Tea Company is one of the largest specialty tea companies in the United States. The company derives its name from an entertaining aspect of tea folklore. In earlier centuries, tea was a valuable commodity traditionally transported by clipper ship. The ship’s captain often was presented with some of the finest teas for his personal use. This supply was his “stash,” stowed carefully as his “private reserve.” Today, the term is still used to denote anything put away carefully because of its preciousness.

Makes cloudy iced tea

This tea is just OK. It doesn’t taste bad, but it doesn’t taste any better than Luzianne or Lipton. And, unlike Luzianne, it’s cloudy which I really don’t like to see in a clear pitcher and glass. I would be embarrassed to serve this to guests. I’ve made it according to the enclosed “moon brewing” directions and also in my iced tea maker. It’s cloudy both ways. Also, these tea bags make a gallon of tea each so unless you like really strong tea, they’re too big for a 3-quart iced tea maker unless you dilute it after you brew. I’m disappointed and won’t order this flavor or this brand again.

Love The Tea

This tea is full of flavor! We make it without so much sugar and the blackcurrant flavor is great. A favorite restaurant serves this and we have been hooked on it for years. Try Try!

Dissapointed

I was looking for a tea with a hint of black currant flavor complementing a black iced tea blend. This tea brews up looking like red fruit punch. The black currant flavor is tangy bordering on bitter. I didn’t see that there was any black tea contribution to the final brew. I didn’t care for it at all.

Where’s the blueberry?

I brewed this tea as directed. It has no blueberry flavor at all. Though the flavor is nice, it is not appealing to me. Guess I was expecting to have a blueberry taste…I wonder why! Oh, yes, it is a blueberry flavored tea! If you are looking for blueberry, pass by this product and try another brand. Though I love Stash teas, especially the mint ones, this one is disappointing.

NOT Traditional Blackcurrant Tea

This tea doesn’t taste at all like traditional blackcurrant tea I have had in the past. It is very fruity tasting and red in color. Disappointing.

Wrong Item Shipped

I ordered Lemon Blossom tea, but I received Stash MEYER Lemon Blossom tea. This is a very different product and I do not like it as much as the Lemon Blossom.

the best iced tea ever!

I brewed this tea as hot tea, letting it steep for 5 -7 minutes. I did it two 1/2 gallons – one at a time with the same tea bag. Then I refrigerated it overnight. There was no cloudiness and the tea is nice and strong with no bitter after taste. Everyone who tries it, loves it.

Very Rasberry flavor

The tea bags make a very nice raspberry flavored tea, however there is a lingering flavor that reminds me of a slightly fermented older tea. While nice red color and raspberry flavor, do not make stronger than recommendation of 1 tea bag per gallon. Will not buy again do to the fermented taste.

Strong and bitter

This tea is much more bitter than other Stash black teas. I brew using the “moon brew” method, leaving the bag in the pitcher in the fridge overnight. I use a 4 quart pitcher so it is not an issue of too little water. I recommend brewing for less than 5 hours to ensure less bitterness.

You should not go… with this mango.

I bought this for someone who loves both mangos and cold brew Iced T. After trying this out, neither one of us really cared for the taste, as it was pretty bland. Turned out we just ended up throwing it out and getting what she usually drinks which is Lipton Cold Brew. I would not reccomend it.

Great Iced Tea!

I originally tasted this as iced tea in a fine restaurant several years ago. I asked for the brand and flavor and have been ordering it ever since! When I serve it to friends they always want to know just what I had asked!
My son-in-law, who does not drink coffee, visited us and I gave him some as iced tea. He loved it, took some bags home with him and has been drinking it both hot and cold ever since. He now has his father drinking it!
