Welcome to Tiger Tiger – With a passion for Ethnic foods and a flare for innovation, we at Tiger Tiger want to help you discover the fragrant and luxurious flavors of Asia. We are confident that our recipes and vast selection of easy to use products will help you to bring exciting dishes to your table in one powerful leap. A Bit of History – With over 30 years experience in servicing the Ethnic market, JK Foods – a division of Hyperama PLC – developed the Tiger Tiger brand becoming a symbol of quality and authenticity. Working in conjunction with chefs local to China, India and Thailand, the Tiger Tiger development team travelled across the lands of Asia, taking in the vast flavors and aromas of traditional street side cookery to the time honored cuisine of authentic restaurants of Asia’s capital cities. We have proudly perfected these traditional flavors to a restaurant quality taste in all of our products, sourcing only the finest ingredients from the Far East. Our Promise – Priding ourselves on our premium quality products, Tiger Tiger received a warm reception from trade after the brand’s launch in 1998. Increasing consumer demand for Ethnic foods prompted the expansion of the range from its beginnings. Servicing foodservice as well as the retail market, Tiger Tiger is constantly developing innovative and unique additions to its range to satisfy the needs of consumers and helping to push forward the boundaries of the Asian foods frontier, becoming one of the widest eastern food ranges available in Europe, the Middle East and USA.
- Pack of six, 19.4-ounces per unit (total of 116.4 ounces)
- A medium, red curry made with coconut milk, pineapple and red curry paste
- Versatile sauce can be used with almost any meat, fish or vegetables
- Complimented with Jasmine Rice flavored with carrot and sweet corn
I was initially very disappointed in this, without having tasted it, because I only received ONE 19.4 oz. box instead of the pack of SIX offered here (and which I was charged for!). This happened with two other orders for Tiger Tiger products, as well — Tiger Tiger Indonesian Satay with Cantonese Fried Brown Rice, 19.4 Ounce Box
and Tiger Tiger Pad Thai With Rice Noodles, 19.4 Ounce Box (Pack of 6)
However, customer service made me a full refund (I’d have preferred to receive the other five boxes in my order, but apparently that wasn’t possible at the time), so I was able to use my one box without feeling cheated, and it was quite good . . . WITH a bit of ‘doctoring’.
In addition to sauteeing vegetables (broccoli, sweet peppers, onion, and halved cherry tomatoes from the garden) and thinly sliced chicken breast with garlic and ginger before adding the sauce, I found I needed to add a bit of soy sauce and a pinch of brown sugar to the sauce, in order to mellow out the too-strong (for me) taste of fish sauce in the sauce, and finish with fistfuls of fresh Thai basil leaves from my herb garden. After that, it was WONDERFUL.
I received just one box instead of the six I paid for. Contacted customer service, who kindly sent me what I thought would be the six boxes. Wrong, I received another single box. Contacted customer service again, spelling out the problem. The person issued me a refund and was told: “I’m so sorry the information about Tiger Tiger Thai Red Curry With Jasmine Brown Rice, 19.4 Ounce Box (Pack of 6) was misleading when you placed your order. We use many sources to build our website information, and we really appreciate knowing about any errors which find their way into our listings. I’ll notify our catalog team about this and will ask them to correct the error.”
However, four business days later the misleading information still appears with the product.
This is the best curry I’ve had since I’ve been in Thailand. It tastes just like the curry I get at my favorite Thai restaurant, but at a fraction of the cost! The rice comes already cooked, so you only need to microwave it for 4 minutes – my favorite quick & easy meal!
It is very good and healthy, although vegetarians should be aware it has a bit of the typical fish sauce.
Ordered this product from Amazon directly, and received the right quantity – all six packets – so I have no problem with my order unlike other reviewers who were short-changed. Overall, pleasing flavor and tastes great with tofu (firm) and cilantro sprigs thrown into the rich gravy. Not that spicy-hot according to my Asian palate. And yes, I will purchase this again – amongst the closest that I can find that taste-wise, to the real deal in Asia. Should shipping costs continue to spiral upwards, I would recommend the manufacturer just produce the gravy packets – that’s the main attraction for me anyway – thereby reducing the product weight. Customers can cook their own rice, readily available in the States – either the fragrant white Jasmine rice or the healthier brown rice.
