Founded in 1972, Stash Tea Company originally operated out of an old Portland Victorian style house, supplying loose herbal teas and bulk herbs to natural food stores. Starting in 1975, the company broadened its focus to include bagged teas and then began to sell a full line of traditional, specialty blend and herbal teas directly to fine restaurants and through a mail order catalog to consumers. Today, Stash Tea Company is one of the largest specialty tea companies in the United States. The company derives its name from an entertaining aspect of tea folklore. In earlier centuries, tea was a valuable commodity traditionally transported by clipper ship. The ship’s captain often was presented with some of the finest teas for his personal use. This supply was his “stash,” stowed carefully as his “private reserve.” Today, the term is still used to denote anything put away carefully because of its preciousness.

Yama Moto Yama
Not sure if I was sent a substitute brand different from what others have reviewed, but the packaging is different – brand name is Yama Moto Yama. The product is very difficult to eat, not crispy, and definitely not flavorful. I love seaweed salad and most flavored seaweed products I’ve tried, but this is inedible in my opinion.

Nori crisps are an acquired taste but these are great for fans.
As with other brands of ready to eat CRISP nori, this snack product is elaborately packaged in small ketchup-size pouches in large sheets inside a ziploc bag with a silica gel dessicant. It’s truly a lot of wrap. But I have found this to be a great snack if you are trying to break some other habit. It doesn’t give you bad breath, has some protein and fiber, and may have more estoric health benefits if one eats several kilos per annum. The company which makes this snack for Stash dates from 1690 and its other main claim to fame is a finest kind of green tea. Nice treat to bring an exotic eater and good in soup, also.
Crisp snack sheets offer a slightly spicy soy sauce type flavor that packs a large punch with few calories. Try it if you like sushi or just need something new – you never know, nori just might have health benefits too!

Love This Stuff
These are little strips of goodness. They taste great, they’re healthy, and they’re really easy to carry around in your pockets for snacking at any time of the day. I love this stuff, and if you’re willing to give it a fair shake, you will too.
